[...] Long time ago ,we talked about the post : MCSE/MCSA has timed out ,which consider many of MCSE/MCSA exams have been retired and the new technology and server 2008 exams have been published .With the new technology more and more popular ,that post think MCSE/MCSA should move forward. However, MCITP /MCTS on server 2008 really are better than MCSE 2003 credentials? Many of windows XP users refuse to upgrade XP to Vista。Server 2003 users also maybe refuse to use Server 2008. Recently, I have gone through many forums and MC site on this subject. I found that many people did not know they should choose MCSE 2003 or MCITP/MCTS, and whether they should upgrade their MCSE 2003 to Server 2008 credentials. [...]

[...] Firstly, here, we’ll list the popular questions among those candidates for MCSE windows Server 2003 network Infrastructure 70-291. 1.What is the passing score or mark for 70-291? 700 points and the maximum score is 1000 .however there have been a few people on various forums who have said that they’ve scored over 1000.To be sure, you should get 70% of the maximum score. And the Microsoft said that the maximum score on the exams would vary depending on the complexity of the skills being measured. 2.How many total questions in 70-291? Generally speaking, approximately 50 questions. 3.What are the 70-291 exam format and pattern? The format is that Linear format; computer-based test (CBT).And Multiple Choice with Multiple answer, Single choice. 4.What topics are very important for the exam 70-291? 1. Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining IP Addressing 2. Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining Name Resolution 3. Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining Network Security 4. Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining Routing and Remote Access 5. Maintaining a Network Infrastructure Notes: the above 5 main topic areas are very important in 70-291, and all of questions about those will appear in your paper, just some of those will be harder .The more information, you can see here . 5. What is the hardest objectives or topic in 70-291?Microsoft’s Internet Authentication Service（IAS）is its implementation of Remote Authentication Dial-in User Service (RADIUS),and it forms a large component of RRAS.This topic is crucial to pass the Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining Routing and Remote Access portion of the exam. Besides, in my opinion, we should focus on all the tools and utilities related to the networking functions. 6. What materials do you need to prepare 70-291? And Is Microsoft press books sufficient for pass the 70-291 exam, how long will you prepare 70-291 ??? MCSA/MCSE Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-291): Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft® Windows Server 2003 Environment, Second Edition MCSE Self-Paced Training Kit (Exams 70-290, 70-291, 70-293, 70-294): Microsoft® Windows Server 2003 Core Requirements, Second Edition Generally speaking ，the Self paced training kits are (in my humble opinion) sufficient for studying the theory. It all depends on your experience. If you have worked with Server 2003 for a while , you should be fine. If you have never used Server 2003, it will be a lot harder. If you have never used Server 2003, I would recommend the Press Books, and also Windows Server 2003 Inside & Out. Take your time, read the books, do any exercise in the books. Set up a few virtual machines and just play around. Don’t rush your self otherwise you will be in for a rude awakening comes test time. Besides ,some materials I could recommend: 1.some books and or online training resources or ebooks or pdf free downloaded for 70-291： MCSE Windows Server 2003 Core Training Guide (Exams 70-290, 70-291, 70-293, & 70-294) (Paperback)。This book has 2 editions. And the second edition would be more inline with the current version of the exam, however for the most part, the first one would most likely be sufficient to cover the objectives thoroughly. So, you can give your choice. 2. MCSE practice exams for 70-291: You may purchase or download some practice exams from a some place like selftestsoftware.com ,measureup.com and pass4ure.com as well to see where you stand, then spend your time on the areas where you are weak, which will help you better prepare 70-291 or get the best materials for the next preparation to 70-291。 3..free download ebooks or pdf for 70-291.when I prepared 70-640,I found two useful sites to provide free ebooks or pdf :1.microsoftebook 2.microsoftpdf.Of course ,the materials for us are for reference only.We couldn’t just own the materials from those sites to prepare the exams. 4.Online training resources for 70-291:The MS Classroom Training are enough for us 7. Is the 70-291 getting ready to retire soon? Although the Server 2008 exams have been released, there is no sign of any exams on the 2003 track retiring yet. And personally, the HR departments and companies worldwide still need time to get used to MCITP 2008 track yet .And the answer from the Microsoft is that we can earn the MCSA or MCSE on windows server 2003.The certifications will not retire and will continue to hold their market value as long as the organizations seek professionals skilled in windows Server2003。My advice for those candidates for MCSE/MCSA 2003 is that to keep pace with the latest technology, you’d better take the upgrade path to the MCITP or MCTS server 2008 exams when you get your Server 2003 credentials. More information, you can see MCSE/MCSA has timed out? Or how to upgrade your MCSA/MCSE to Server 2008 credentials? [...]
